10 amazing facts about the female body
The power of omens is incredible. We are mothers, wives, and daughters who give the gift of life. We work, we raise kids, and we look good doing it. “Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did,” Ann Rogers once said. She just did it in high heels and backwards.”
But did you know that the adage "men are from Mars, women are from Venus" may have some truth to it?
Some studies, for example, have found that women have a perfect memory for facial features.

1. Women's immune systems are more powerful than men's.
It's all in your genes. Researchers from Ghent University in Belgium believe these sex-based health disparities are caused by genetic material known as microRNAs.
MicroRNAs' primary function in cells is to turn off specific genes. According to the researchers, microRNAs found on the female X chromosome may give women an immune system advantage over men.
This finding appears to be supported by another study, which found that women are diagnosed with cancer at a lower rate than men.
2. Women have a higher pain threshold than men.
Though pain is subjective, it appears that women, on average, can handle the discomfort of pain better, according to a new study. During a series of tests, men rated their pain higher than women, according to McGill University researchers. When confronted with personal pain, men were found to be more "stressed and hypersensitive" than women.
3. Women have a better sense of smell than men.
According to Charles Wysocki, a behavioral neuroscientist at Philadelphia's Monell Chemical Senses Center, "it is quite difficult to block a woman's awareness of body odor." In men, on the other hand, it appears to be rather simple.”
The researchers believe that women are more sensitive to underarm body odor because the biological data contained within it aids in the selection of a potential partner. It certainly outperforms Tinder.
The fragrances were tested in the study to see how well they could conceal body odor. Nineteen of the fragrances were effective in fooling the male subjects. Only two of the scents successfully overpowered the underarm pong in women.
4. Women can see more colors than men.
According to Israel Abramov of CUNY's Brooklyn College, women have a larger "color vocabulary" than men. Abramov asked men and women to divide a color's hue into four categories and assign a percentage to each: red, yellow, green, and blue.
The findings revealed that women were better than men at distinguishing between subtle gradations. This sensitivity was most noticeable in the color spectrum's middle. Women were better than men at distinguishing minute differences between colors that appeared identical.
And it is for this reason that we should always be allowed to choose the paint colors in a new home.
5. Women have better memories than men.
Have you ever gotten into a fight with a woman only to have her bring up something from the past? Yes, that is my MO, and as annoying as it may be, there may be a scientific reason for it. (At least, that's my excuse, and it's one I'm sticking to.)
According to research, the gender gap may be caused by how we teach our daughters and sons to tell stories. We create memories by telling stories.
According to research, when mothers ask their children for details about their days, they are actually teaching their children how to remember things. Azriel Grysman, a Hamilton College professor who studies gender and memory, believes that gender norms orient girls more toward elaboration than boys, which may lead to better memories.
6. Women's necks are more flexible than men's.
Have you ever noticed that when men turn around, their entire bodies turn, whereas women only turn their heads? This is due to women's more flexible necks. In general, women have a much more elastic muscle structure.
Women, on the other hand, are more prone to neck pain than men.
7. Women have sensitive hearing even while sleeping, and this is due to evolution.
Women are hypersensitive to noises while sleeping, allowing new mothers to hear and respond to crying babies. Women are especially sensitive to high-pitched noises.
Unfortunately, this means that women are more likely than men to suffer from sleep disorders. Ladies, earplugs are your best friends here.
8. Females have one breast that is larger than the other.
Breast asymmetry is extremely common, afflicting more than half of all women. According to folklore, the left breast is always larger because it is located over the heart and thus receives more blood. The real reason, however, is simply genetics.
The cause of this "size differential" is unknown; it could be because women have more breast tissue cells on one side, or the cells could be more sensitive to the effects of the hormone estrogen, which causes breast tissue cells to grow.
Though the reasons are unclear, having different sized breasts is completely normal.
9. Women's bodies continue to change as they enter their twenties.
Adolescence does not mark the end of women's bodily changes. Acne, menstrual cramps, and the peak of metabolism all occur during a woman's twenties. Not only that, but the body may become curvier and cellulite may appear.
The 20s are a roller coaster of emotional and physical development for women, but this all settles down in their 30s and beyond. That is, until perimenopause...
10. Women's brains are more intricately hard-wired than men's
Dr Ragini Verma, PhD, an associate professor in the department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine, and colleagues discovered that women's brains are more interconnected than men's.
This means that women are more adept at making social connections and adapting to routines. But we already knew that, didn't we?
