Battenfeld: Joe Biden can’t handle a press conference – where is the outrage?

President Biden has yet to stand before the American people and answer repeated questions from the media, despite the fact that it has been nearly seven weeks.

It's bad enough that the president and his team don't trust him and his sometimes wandering mind enough to get through an hour-long press conference. It's also shocking that the media allows him to get away with it, instead of subjecting us to constant inane briefings from press secretary Jennifer Psaki.

On Fox News, former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said, "I think his staff may not have confidence that he will stand at the podium and have a press conference the way President Trump did several times." “I don't believe President Biden is thinking, ‘I don't want to do this.'”

Those press conferences would not provide you with much detail.

Psaki's go-to evasive answer to a question is, "I'll circle back on that." On Twitter, it was a hot subject.

She has an angsty grin on her lips, as though she wants to tell reporters to shove it. But I don't think she'll be invited to Dancing with the Stars or ridiculed at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

And, unlike McEnany, Sarah Huckabee, and Sean Spicer, you won't see Saturday Night Live imitating Psaki. Democrats and the Trump-hating media have been attacking them from the beginning.

Will Biden ever get his own Jim Acosta? Perhaps anyone to pursue him? Probably not.

Whatever else you may think of President Trump, he ran his own press operation.

At this point in his presidency, Trump had held five press conferences in which he was met with aggressive questions. He, on the other hand, stood there and took it. He never went into the bunker.

Trump's press conferences attracted a lot of scrutiny, and yes, he could be a jerk at times. But, at the very least, he was approachable and open to the American people.

Biden, on the other hand, has displayed no such inclination to be approachable, choosing to take one or two shouted questions during his public appearances.

He'll give a speech to the nation later this week, but it'll be totally scripted and delivered via teleprompter, so there's no chance he'll be asked any questions.

Before the end of the month, Psaki promises a typical press conference. We'll have to wait and see. If he goes ahead with it, he'll probably just invite a few of his favorite reporters and keep it brief.

The truth is that Biden, who is 78 years old, will be unable to remain on track for the duration of a typical press conference, and will inevitably stumble over his words or make a gaffe. But don't worry; the media will, as is customary, cover it up.

Do you find that Biden Is An Idiot President
